Lush Lip Scrub Review

Today I have a review for you on the Lush lip scrubs. I’ve been into Lush stores a few times, but never end up coming out with anything because it’s the store I always seem to pass on the way out of the mall. While I was in the States I made it a mission to visit Lush and actually buy something! If you’d like to see everything that I bought from Lush you can check out my USA Haul that I recently posted. Now for the review!
This lip scrubs are sweet enough to eat! I couldn’t resist picking up all three lip scrubs- Mint Julips, Bubblegum, and Sweet Lips. I’ll start off by describing the smells of the products first.
Mint Julips smells like the name describes, minty but also with a hint of chocolate. If you like those peppermint and chocolate patties you’ll love this. I’m not the biggest fan of mint, but I don’t mind it.
Bubblegum smells like.. well bubblegum! However, I have to say I am not the biggest fan of the scent of this scrub in particular. It is quite overpowering and almost sickly smelling.
Sweet Lips is heaven. It has a vanilla and chocolate scent, and it’s oh so wonderful. This is my favourite of the three. It smells delicious!
These Lush lip scrubs are made from all natural ingredients: castor oil, sugar, cold pressed organic jojoba oil, vanilla extract, tagetes oil, peppermint oil, limonene, and flavour. The sugar acts as an exfoliant which removes dead skin cells from your lips leaving your pucker soft and smooth. You can either lick off the scrub, or gently rub it off with a warm face cloth to remove. Be sure to apply lip balm after you’ve used your scrub to add moisture back into your lips.
The only thing I find disappointing was the fact that the scrub is so dry. I find that I use a lot of product because it doesn’t have any liquid base to stick to, so I apply some water to my lips before applying and I find it helps make the exfoliation process much easier.
I have made my own DIY lip scrub (see post here) for those who’d like to take a stab at trying to make something similar at home. These Lush lip scrubs retail for $9.95, contain 25g of product and can be purchased from lush.ca. Overall I think they are a good product- a bit pricey for a lip scrub, but it really does the job. I’ll be repurchasing.
Have you tried the Lush lip scrubs before? Which one is your favourite? I hope you are enjoying your week so far and are staying happy and healthy!
