How to fix a broken lipstick
Hilary | On 22, Sep 2013
Have you ever had it when you go and buy a lipstick and get it home only to find out that the bullet is broken inside? Or you reach for your favourite lipstick of all time, twist it up, apply it and it breaks in half? Well today I am going to quickly show you step by step how to fix your broken lipstick in 5 easy steps!
You are going to need to place down some paper towel, and grab a lighter and your broken lipstick.
Hold your lipstick bullet in one hand and carefully light the end of it with the lighter. This will melt the bottom of it so that you can move on to the next step. (Please excuse my chipping nail polish!)
Now that the bottom of the lipstick bullet is melted it is going to adhere to the bottom of the tube and stick. Be gentle when doing this, but still make sure that it’s firmly in place. Make sure that you have the bullet even so that it doesn’t scrape the sides of the tube when it’s twisted up and down.
Now stick your lipstick in the freezer for 10-15 minutes so that the lipstick can set and harden.
When you take it out of the freezer this is what your lipstick should look like. Just clean up around the edges of the lipstick with the paper towel or your finger and smooth everything out. Now it may not be as pretty as it once was, but it’s certainly better than throwing it out!
I hope this post helped you guys out! I know how frustrating it can be when this happens but now you know how to fix it quickly should this happen to you! Just make sure that when you are applying your lipstick that you don’t extend the lipstick too far out of the tube, this will prevent it from snapping in half.
I hope you all are having a great week and I will talk to you again soon!
