Gosh BB Cream 01 Sand

I asked on Twitter for pale BB cream recommendations and got a response telling me to try the one by Gosh. I have always wanted to try some of Gosh’s products since I see them every time I walk into Shoppers Drugmart so I went ahead and purchased the lightest shade to try out.
The Gosh BB cream has 5 shades that range from pale to dark, and claims to be a foundation, primer and moisturizer all in one. It also has a SPF of 15 which is always a great thing to have in skincare/base products so I was happy to see that it was included. This BB Cream, even being so light, still isn’t a perfect match after it has set on the skin. It darkens on my skin after I apply it which I wasn’t expecting. With that being said I have to make sure to blend it out and down my neck well as to make sure there isn’t a visible difference between the colour of my face and neck. This is normal procedure for me though anyways. The consistency of this BB cream is very thick, and takes some time to get it to blend out evenly. I leave some on the back of my hand to warm up before I apply with my fingers which helps.
BB creams have lighter coverage than foundations, which is a given, but I was surprised at how little this BB cream actually covered compared to others I’ve tried. I really wanted this to even out my skin tone, but the redness in my cheeks still showed through even after building up the area with a few layers. I knew that it wouldn’t cover my blemishes so I just spot concealed with my MAC Studio Finish concealer, no big deal. Even after exfoliating and moisturizing the BB cream stuck spots on my face that were dryer which was unfortunate to see. I didn’t find this to add a noticeable amount of moisture into my skin and I definitely couldn’t use it on it’s own without pre-moisturizing. For people with normal skin I could definitely see this working for you really well. People tend to recommend this for those with dry skin but with my skin personally it’s just a no-go.
For $22 I expected more from this product. I would have liked more coverage, and a longer wear time. This BB Cream disappeared on my face within a few hours which was disappointing. It really didn’t perform as well as I was hoping it would and I wasn’t happy that it exasperated the dryer areas on my face and didn’t do much to even out my skin tone. I really wanted this product to work but it was a miss for me. I’d love to know if you have tried out this BB cream and what your thoughts are on it! Let me know in the comments below!
